1st Grade blog Week of 21st-25th
Welcome To 1St Grade!
This was an amazing First week of school! It was amazing to meet some new scholars and see some familiar faces. We are so excited to see what this year will bring, and we are so thrilled to have your scholars with us! This year we will learn so many new things! This is the first-grade blog, this is where you can see a week at a glance of what your scholar will be learning/ learned. This is also a place where we will put important information, dates and events that is going on within our grade level and as Great Hearts Western Hills as a whole as well. If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to your scholar's teacher and AT and they can answer those questions and concerns. Have a Great Weekend!

Important Information/ Reminders:
- Please remember if you decide to bring lunch for your scholar to please bring it to the front desk 30 minutes before our scheduled lunch time which is at 11:25, so we can have an accurate Lunch count.
- Whenever your Scholars Teacher sends home any document's, test's and or quizzes that require a parent signature please sign and return it to school the next day.
- It is important to always send a snack to school every day with your scholar so they can a good refreshing snack and so they aren't feeling left out as well.
-Make sure you are also checking, reading any teacher comments and taking out any graded papers from their black folder because we will be sending stuff home once a week so you can see the beautiful work your scholar is doing here at school!

Next Week at a Glance:
Spalding:
We are going to be introducing double and triple letter phonograms this week as well as going over our single letter phonograms.
Literature:
We are going to be going over the Golden Rule and our poem of the week will be "The Mighty Oak" and our readers of the week are "The Princess and the Pea" and "The Frog Prince."
Singapore Math:
This week we are comparing numbers that are greater than and less than.
Science:
They will be observing and recording changes that happen in the sky such as the moon, stars and including the sun.
History:
No History at the moment
