Welcome to First Grade

 Hello families We are now going into Week 3! So exciting :) This coming week will be the last week of October. Just a reminder that we do not celebrate Holidays so please don't bring any goodie bags or treats for the kids and to also refrain from sending Candy after Halloween we appreciate all of you! Literary day is coming up next month so your scholar may dress up as their favorite LITERARY character, please no pop culture and make sure what they are wearing is appropriate as well. Teachers should already have sent home the Veterans day papers if you would like to print out a picture of someone who has served in the military you may send it back to school when completed! November 20th: Grandparent’s Day Grade: 3-5th 

November 21st: Grandparent’s Day Grade: K-2 

November 22nd: Literary Character Day & Spirit Day 

November 25th-29th: Thanksgiving Break

Important Information:

- Scholars with Upper School siblings (who wait in the MPR at carline) must have a silent reading book everyday with them or in their backpack.

- Please make sure your scholar packs a snack everyday so they can refresh their energy. It doesn't have to be a big snack but just something to tie them over till lunch time.

- Scholars have Math and Spalding Homework daily except for Fridays so please make sure you are checking their black folders daily for homework and math workbook and reading the agendas.

- Please send your scholar with a water bottle to school every day so they can stay hydrated.

-For Spalding homework please write the words 2 times and in 2 Columns, you will fold the paper hot dog style and write on the left-hand side and close to the folded line.

- We are going to start going to the library so please make sure when you see A Great Hearts Western Hills book make sure they return it on their next library day your lead will send an email to let you know when that is. (Schedule is down Below

Quarter 1 Week 2 August 19-23rd

  1ST Grade Week 2 Hello Families! we have officially finished week 1! We are all still adjusting to our schedule and routines. As we continue to Learn and adjust to our schedule here are a few reminders. Please Hydrate your scholars! When we have recess, it is really Hot at both times we go outside. Please just remind your scholars to get water while they are playing and at home. This week we will send home Homework that is required and will now start to be taken as a grade if you have any questions, please reach out to your scholars Lead/ AT Teachers. Also please read and sign your scholar's behavior log and Agenda and fill out their reading log. Scholars should be reading with or without you every night. Q1 W4 September 2nd-6th

  Welcome to 1st grade! Welcome to Week 4 This week we will continue learning Spalding words Please go over the words with your scholars and have them practice using those words in a sentence. Last Friday we took our very first Spelling Test and the Kiddoos were a bit nervous. Remind them when studying to maybe give them some ways to remember those words. We will also Start going to the library very soon as well.
